Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson) to Host 4th Annual Monte Carlo Night to Benefit PAL’s Youth Center PDF Print E-mail

PAL's 4th Annual Monte Carlo Night On October 3, 2009, Nancy Cartwright, the iconic voice of Bart Simpson and Honorary Mayor of the North Valley, will once again host Monte Carlo night at her home. All profits from the event will go to Devonshire PALS. The last three years’ events helped to raise the funds needed to build a new Youth Center for at-risk kids.

Groundbreaking for the Youth Center took place in June 2008 and is expected to be completed later this year.

The new Center, on the corner of Parthenia Street and Wilbur Ave. in Northridge will have a gym, boxing ring, park environment, tutoring facilities along with a computer lab, and administrative services for the youth and teens of the Devonshire area. It will also serve as home base for the Explorers, Jeopardy and the PALS Youth Council, which teach civic pride and help to provide a solid foundation for the young people’s future endeavors.

Funds raised from this year’s Monte Carlo event will go towards the tools needed in the new facility, including sports equipment, books, computers, and much more

Celebrities on the hosting committee and/or attending include John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Brad Garrett, Kirstie Alley, Micky Dolenz, Camryn Manheim, Bryan Cranston, Sinbad, Patrick Cassidy, Anne Archer, Catherine Bell, Nathan Osmond, Michelle Stafford, Stefanie Schaeffer, Councilman Greig Smith, the evening’s MC Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants), and many more. Poker pros who are anticipated to play this year include Jamie Gold (WSOP 2006 Main Event Winner), Jerry Yang (WSOP 2007 Main Event Winner), Mary Jones (WSOP 2006 Ladies Event Winner) along with the following WSOP Bracelet Winners, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Barbara Enright (Poker Hall of Fame), Susie Isaacs, Linda Johnson and Multi- Tournament Winners Kenna James and Marsha Waggoner. Dorian Harewood will return to coach and host Black Jack and roulette..

Guests will be treated to live music by the Cody Bryant Band, entertainment, trick ropers, dancing (including line dancing lessons), gourmet BBQ, open bar, a cigar lounge. and much more will be available for players and partygoers.

The event is open to the Public and will e held at Nancy Cartwright’s home. The cost is $250 per person and includes Texas Hold ‘Em Buy-in and the party. The cost for non-poker players is $125 per person . The top five players will each receive a seat at a World Series of Poker Satellite Tournament.
