Gates are open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Donation of $4 per adult, children $1, free for children under 5. All proceeds go to the upkeep of The Homestead Acre, owned by the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation and Parks with the Chatsworth Historical Society as Conservators. Come enjoy a tour of the Minnie Hill Palmer Historical Cottage and browse through the Chatsworth Museum featuring information and artifacts from Chatsworth pioneer families and other exhibits. The 15th annual chili-cook-off has samples for you to taste, plus our snack bar with hot dogs is available. Activities include Chores & Games of Yore for kids and adults, demonstrations by our Blacksmith, a Railroad spike driving exhibit, Panning for Gold and numerous vendors and exhibits. The idea is to experience firsthand some of the pioneer skills that early settlers knew how to do. Parking is limited at the Homestead Acre, so please park at the Chatsworth Train Station with shuttles every 15 minutes to the event. For more information call the Chatsworth Historical Society at 818-341-3053 and leave a message.
